How to Use DMM to Send a Postcard

Sending your first postcard with Direct Mail Manager is simple. If you’re confused about how to send your first postcard, you’re in the perfect place. Below, we’ll take you step-by-step throughout the process of using Direct Mail Manger to send your first postcard.

Assets Required to be ready to send a mailer in DMM

  • Artwork – 2 files – 1 front, 1 back.
  • Mail list- 1 file.

The most common list templates are below.

Business list template with name and company fields

Consumer list template w/o company field

SENDING A NEW 6”x9” POSTCARD

Steps:

  1. Login
  2. Click in upper left corner
  3. Click “Add new address” then “Import from CSV”

NOTE: an XLSX file is acceptable as well

4. Select “Create new list” if sending a new audience and name the new list.

a) OR select an active list if adding records and sending to the entire list including the new records.

Then drag and drop or select the mail list from your computer files.

5. Select “Continue”

6. Skip any unnecessary columns from the list, be sure to scroll to the right to make sure all the necessary information is identified or skipped, and select import.

7. If ALL addresses are validated and do not need review. The list will be ready to use and you may proceed to “Send a Postcard”

OR

If the list has invalid data or contains duplicates to any current data in the system, it will populate in the “Review address import” section. To navigate there, select addresses tab on left then “Review address import”

8. From the Address import review, the system will summarize the valid/invalid and duplicate addresses. If preferred, you can import without duplicates so the list does not have anyone on it that has already been mailed. Or if everyone uploaded needs to receive the mailer, then select import with duplicates. 

After selecting your import choice, you may proceed to SEND A POSTCARD.

SEND A POSTCARD

  1. Click in upper left corner
  2. Click “Send a Postcard”

3. Create a new campaign Or select a current campaign name and click next.

4. Name the postcard send with relevant identification:

a) Select the mail list to use.

b) Select the Postcard size 6”x9”.

c) Click Next.

5. Upload New Artwork or Select Previously Uploaded Artwork to use and click next.

NOTE:  For instructions on loading Artwork See section “Steps for adding Artwork” below.

TIP: When using pre loaded or past designs there are multiple ways to sort or filter the print files for easier access to the right ones.

Review the summary page for errors and “Send Now” Or “Schedule Send” for a later date.


“Name” your Artwork.

Select the size 6”x9” postcard.

NOTE: If this is a BACK file with room for mail panel, select the box to indicate “This is a back artwork”.

Then Click “Upload your file”.

Drag and drop your artwork FRONT file or click inside the box to select files saved in your computer.

When uploaded, the file will pass through a preflight check to confirm the file has no errors and design is within the provided safe and trim lines. Click NEXT.

Then Finish.

Follow steps 2/4 through 7 for the other side of the postcard.
